Safe Sleep Education & Cribs for Kids
The goal of the Safe Sleep & Cribs for Kids Program is to reduce Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
Qualifying individuals who receive Safe Sleep Education may receive a portable crib for their infant up to 8 months of age.
Safe Sleep Education Sessions are provided twice per month on the 2nd and 3rd Monday at 2pm. To register for a Safe Sleep Education Session, call 606-864-5187.
What are the requirements to qualify for a portable crib?
Be a Laurel County Resident
Have an Infant up to 8 months old
Receives Medicaid or is on the WIC Program at LCHD
Child Passenger Safety
Make sure babies and young kids are in a car seat every time they’re in a car.
Kentucky Law (KRS 189.125) Requires:
Children less than 40 inches to be properly placed in car seat.
Children younger than 8-years-old and between 40-57 inches must be in a booster seat.
Children Younger than 8 but taller than 57 inches do not have to ride in a booster seat.
